It won’t surprise many people to find out that Howe Park Cubs succeeded in a weekend of being clowns! However, Circus Camp involved a lot more than just wearing funny costumes…

A night with the stars
Howe Park Cubs joined other members of the District for a ‘Night with the Stars’ in early July.
Malvern Challenge 2010
Howe Park Scouts entered two teams into the recent Malvern Challenge held in the Cotswalds in June 2010.
We’re delighted to report that out of 460 teams entered, our ‘A’ team came in 82nd place, and our ‘B’ team came in 108th place. Both very respectable places, especially considering the Troop has never been before.

Gilwell Fun Day
Howe Park Cubs, and other friends from Milton Keynes headed down to Gilwell Park for their bi-annual visit to the Fun Day.

Bounce!
As part of their health and fitness the Cubs recently had a go at trampolining at Kingston.
The excellent instructors had the Cubs attempting manoeuvres and playing games on the trampolines.
Nature survey
The Cubs recently spent an evening surveying nature in Milton Keynes.
As part of their award work the Cubs went exploring the local Countryside in May.
Cubs Karting
The Cubs recently made a trip to a Karting trak to try find any upcoming Formula 1 drivers…
Every term we award a prize for the best Six. It was a little overdue, but recent winners got a trip out to try a little racing.

Westcroft Litter Pick
To end the Spring term, Howe Park Cubs decided to do their bit to improve Westcroft with a litter pick.
Unfortunately the elements were against us and we got rained off quite quickly… but not before we filled two bin bags full of all sorts of rubbish!
The Cubs were rewarded for their efforts with some chips… well, they needed something after doing such a nasty job!

Knights and Dragons
The Cubs recently had to try to earn their place at Akela’s Round Table with a set of challenges to prove their worthiness as Knights.
The day included:
- Hunting for dragon eggs using our magical egg detector
- Making crowns and goblets
- Designing catapults
- Jousting
- Making a pudding fit for a king
- Designing dragon fridge magnets
