Scouts from Howe Park joined forces with Furzton and Loughton for an adventure to Labaume, Ardeche this Summer.
Disneyworld Paris, and Kayaking down the Ardeche were the highlights for our international travellers.
Every term, we give the Cubs lots of chances to earn (and lose) points, and the winning team gets a prize. So, after cinema, bowling, golf, karting, and other prizes we decided this term to visit a local restaurant.
At this point we should congratulate them on their teamwork, and efforts to win. But in reality all that anyone will remember is the sheer amount of ice cream that they managed to eat!
Perhaps the staff were a little niave for letting the Cubs use the ice cream machine unattended (though they soon realised the problem when they emptied it). And to be fair the menu did say they could design their own creation.
Just to prove the alarming amount of ice cream they tackled, some of them even left behind a gooey mess of ice-cream and smarties which they couldn’t manage to eat – who’d have thought that a 9-year old could really say no to ice cream!
The only thing we can be glad about is that the Cubs didn’t manage to find any larger bowls.
Because this hasn’t really helped towards our Healthy Eating credentials, we will mention this doesn’t happen every week and it was a treat. Oh, and we had pizza too. That’s probably been forgotten compared to the ice cream though.
